A number of international protection applicants were being brought in to Racket Hall Hotel.
Protesters and Gardaí have clashed in Roscrea as asylum seekers were brought to the town.
At noon Gardaí and members of the public order unit provided a cordon at the Racket Hall Hotel to facilitate the transport of international protection applicants to the facility.
During the course of the operation one person was arrested under the Public Order Act and released without charge
