Security Industry Pay Increase Blocked Again

The Taoiseach and Tánaiste have been called on to intervene.

The security industry has again been blocked from receiving a pay increase.

Minister of State for Employment and Meath West TD Damien English had earlier this month sanctioned an Employment Regulation Order that would increase the minimum rate of pay from €11.65 per hour to €12.90 on February 1st.

However, the High Court blocked the arrangement for a second time as it would support the interests of larger employers and reduce competition

Members of the the Irish Security Industry Association are calling on the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste to deliver better pay, terms, and conditions.
