Seven In 10 Irish Adults Fall Short Of Recommended Dairy Intake

73% do not achieve the recommended three daily servings advised by Irish dietary guidelines.

Most Irish adults are falling below the recommended daily dairy serving.

Research presented at the Nutrition Society Congress by Westmeath's Dr. Aoife Murtagh, found that more than seven in ten adults are not meeting the Department of Health’s recommendation of three daily servings of milk, yogurt, or cheese.

The provisional findings show that dairy consumption is widespread among Irish adults at 99%, yet 73% do not meet the recommended intake of three daily servings specified in Irish dietary guidelines.
