A Laois credit union is among the first to be approved to lend as part of the CCG scheme.

A credit union in Laois is among the first in Ireland to be approved for a new government lending initiative.

The Covid-19 Credit Guarantee Scheme is aimed at boosting SME's and Agri producers adversely affected by the pandemic.

Applicants will be able to borrow between €10,000 and €1 million over periods of up to five and a half years.
