A significant new housing development could be in the offing for the centre of a Westmeath town.
The local authority has received a proposal for an 88-unit development on the Athlone road in Mullingar.
It'll consist of 10 three-bed houses with a further 78 units comprising of two- and three-bed duplexes and apartments, along with creche facilities.
A decision won't be finalised on the plans until February 5th.
