Record levels of homelessness are being recorded monthly by the Housing Department.
The Simon Community is warning about the long term consequences of child homelessness in the midlands.
The latest figures from the Department of Housing shows 82 children were in emergency accomodation in the the region in February, up from 71 in January.
The number nationally is 4,653.
This comes with record levels of homelessness being recorded on a monthly basis by the Housing Department.
