Sinn Féin Warns Of Healthcare Gaps Due To Housing Shortage

Practices across the midlands have had to advertise positions on numerous occasions.

Sinn Fein says a lack of housing and school places are resulting in prolonged GP vacancies in the Midlands.

New data from the HSE shows a practice in Coole in Westmeath had to advertise three times over a two year period to secure a new doctor.

The same issue affected an office in Longford Town with a new doctor starting next month after the post was advertised on three separate occasions in the last 12 months.
