We look set to see snow in the midlands this weekend as temperatures drop below freezing.

A cold temperature warning is now in effect until 11 o'clock tomorrow morning across the country with temperatures of - 3 and below to be expected.

Current weather models are predicting the midlands to see heavy snowfall over the coming days.

While Met Eireann is warning temperatures could drop as low as minus 10 degrees next week.

Rhode's Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel, says this cold snap could last until late on next week:
