Mr. Stack says the comments have brought shame on Laois.
Sinn Féin's Brian Stanley is facing a call to resign after making controversial remarks on Twitter.
The Laois-Offaly TD has apologised for the since-deleted the post, which referred to incidents during the War of Independence and the Troubles, and provoked backlash online for glorifying violence.
Austin Stack from Portlaoise - whose father was shot by the IRA in 1983 - has branded the comments as "horrific, disgusting and obnoxious".
He's calling for Deputy Stanley to stand down or be removed as the chairman of the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee.
Mr. Stack believes it's hypocritical of the party to not take this issue more seriously:
TWEET: She's questioning his suitability as chair of the Oireachtas Public Accounts committee.
