Substantial Drop In Offaly Burglaries

A recent Joint Policing Committee meeting has shown a year-on-year decrease on burglary offences in Offaly.

There's been a year on year decrease in burglary offences in Offaly.

That's according to a report delivered by Chief Superindendent John Scanlon in the latest meeting of the Joint Policing Committee in Offaly.

There's been just under a 50% drop in cases of burglary, down from 69 to 34, in the last quarter of 2022 compared with the same period in 2021.

Meanwhile instances of aggravated burglaries went from three to two over the same period.
