That's what Kildare South TD Cathal Berry is saying after Sinn Féin submitted a non-binding motion to extend the ban until next January.
The Independent Group of TDs want to see punitive taxes for landlords ended, renters given more tax supports, and the Croí Cónaithe scheme extended to allow people claim support to renovate multiple homes.
Mr. Berry says he agrees with the spirit of Sinn Féin's motion but wants to see other policies prioritised:
