The Tánaiste says he disgrees with a senior doctor who says covid-19 is a lot less severe than the annual flu.
The comments were made by Dr. Martin Feeley, who's clinical director of the Dublin Midlands Hospital Group - which includes the Midlands Regional Hospitals in Portlaoise and Tullamore.
Leo Varadkar says no one can say anything about covid-19 with certainty as we have so much yet to learn about the virus.
He doesn't agree with Dr. Feeley's assertion that tough restrictions are no longer required:
