Trump's Election To Have Impact On EU's Work With Big Tech Companies - Former EU Ombudsman

The Offaly woman has worked as the EU Ombudsman since 2013.

The election of Donald Trump as US President will have an impact on work done by the EU to bring big tech companies in line, according to the outgoing European Ombudsman.

Offaly's Emily O'Reilly has been in the role since 2013, having before served as the Irish Ombudsman and as a journalist.

Ms O'Reilly says the EU had planned to be the ones to manage the rise of tech industries.

She wants the EU to continue to hold itself to the highest standards:
