Two COVID-19 Patients Being Treated In Midlands Hospitals

Nationally, 19 people have the virus in 12 different hospitals around the country.

Two patients with Covid 19 are being treated at Midlands Hospitals. 

Staff at Tullamore and Mullingar are each caring for one person with the illness.

Six of the patients are being treated in intensive care, and three of them are being ventilated.

There are two suspected cases in hospitals in the midlands, one in Portlaoise and the other in Mullingar.

The World Health Organisation said data to date suggests 80% of Covid-19 infections are mild or asymptomatic; 15% are severe infection requiring oxygen and 5% are critical, requiring ventilation.
