A man in his 30s is appearing before Tullamore District Court this morning.
A man is due to appear in an Offaly court this morning over an attempted drone drug drop at a prison in Laois.
The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested along with another in his 40s, after being discovered on the grounds of the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise after a drone was seen operating around the nearby Midlands Prison.
The man in his 30s will appear before Tullamore District Court at 10.30am this morning.
The other man has since been released with charge.
The drone, which was carrying suspected cannabis, tablets, as well as mobile phones, was subsequently found crash landed on the roof of the prison's training college.
Reports suggest the crew involved in the incident are believed to have been connected to the delivery of a toxic drug drop at the same prison last month.
That incident led to nine prisoners overdosing with three being rushed to hospital.
