Two Men Arrested In Laois In Cross Border Terrorism Investigation

The men in their 40s and 30s are in Garda custody being questioned in the midlands.

Two men have been arrested in County Laois as part of a cross border terrorism investigation.

The men, in their 40s and 30s were detained after a vehicle was stopped yesterday and a number of items seized.

They are currently being questioned at a Garda Station in the midlands.

In a statement, Gardai say they are working with the PSNI in the North, where searches were carried out and a number of items, including electronic devices, were removed for further examination.
