Two Midlands Stores In Jeopardy As Arcadia Group Collapses

The High Court appointed liquidators last night.

Two midlands clothes stores are in jeopardy after the collapse of the Arcadia Group.

It's after the High Court last night appointed liquidators to four Irish companies that are part of the British fashion group. 

In the UK, Arcadia collapsed into administration yesterday. 

Here, its stores include Topshop and Wallis in Athlone.

The Junior Business Minister is hopeful nearly 500 jobs will not be lost in 14 Arcadia stores in Ireland. 

They will continue to trade through the Christmas, and Longford-Westmeath Fianna Fáil TD and Junior Minister Robert Troy says he feels for the staff:
