The plans will see a pipeline bringing water from the West through the midlands to the East.
Public consultations will be held in Offaly on a major water supply project.
Uisce Éireann's Water Supply Project Eastern and Midlands Region will be one of the largest in the State's history:
Consultation and information events for the public will be held in the Tullamore Court Hotel on January 22nd, and the County Arms in Birr on January 23rd, both from 4pm until 8pm.
The Water Supply Project Eastern and Midlands Region will take water from the Lower River Shannon, to be treated in Tipperary and then piped through Tipperary, Offaly and Kildare.
It will then travel to a termination point reservoir at Peamount in Dublin to connect into the Greater Dublin Area water distribution network.
The project will have the capacity to meet water supply needs for up to half of the national population.
The public will have a chance to give feedback on the proposals until the 4th of March, in advance of the plans being submitted to An Bord Pleanála.
Other similar consultation events will be held in Tipperary and Kildare, as well as online webinars.
