A number of areas in the county may be without water until the fault is repaired.
Residents in Westmeath may be without water this afternoon as a result of a burst main.
Uisce Éireann says it's causing supply disruptions to households and businesses in Monilea, Mullingar and the surrounding areas.
Works to repair the fault are scheduled to take place until 5pm this evening.
However, the body says it may take up to three hours afterwards for supply to be fully restored.
Elsewhere, Uisce Éireann is investigating reports of disruptions to supply in Crookedswood, Clonlost, Killucan and the surrounding areas.
