Westmeath Group Argues Transport Price Hike Works Against Government Targets

The National Transport Authority will increase fares by an average of 15%.

A Westmeath community group is voicing its opposition to the National Transport Authority’s proposed 15% public transport fare increase.

Adult Leap Card fares on town services will increase by 10%, reaching €1.65, with Intercity rail express fares rising by 10%, with economy fares increasing by as much as 20%.

Open Return tickets will also be withdrawn from Intercity rail services.
