Westmeath Man Loses Bid To Become Next ICSA President

Edmond Phelan is stepping down from the role.

A Westmeath man has lost his bid to become President of the Irish Cattle and Sheepfarmers' Association.

Lismacaffrey's Sean McNamara, who's currently Sheep Chairman, was narrowly defeated by Dermot Kelleher.

The Cork farmer will take over from out-going president Edmond Phelan in January.

He says he's looking forward to the challenge of dealing with Brexit, CAP reform and product price.
