A Westmeath pride committee is looking to honour ancient traditions in its latest project.
Heartlands Pride in Athlone with funding from Creative Westmeath is creating a stylised Síle na Gig float for this year's Pride Parade.
The project is in collaboration with community artist Aoife Doolan in order to honour the ancient Irish symbol which protected against evil.
The group is looking for help to build the float and is holding an information session this evening at 5:30pm.
