The newly named 'Bóithrín na mBan' honours the planting of oak trees for women who have died tragically.
Westmeath councillors are set to honour a local tradition of over twenty years on a road near Lough Ennell.
Oak trees are often planted on the L-11371 near Butler's Bridge in Mullingar to remember women who have died tragically.
It's now set to be renamed 'Bóithrín na mBan" or the Women's Road after an agreement by the municipal district.
Mullingar man Matt Nolan suggested the idea though a submission on the local area plan.
He says he hopes it will boost the area's popularity further:
