Just 12 pubs in the midlands have been converted into residential units in the last three years.
That's based on news stats from the Department of Housing which offers a planning exemption for the conversion of vacant pubs into housing.
Three pubs have led to the delivery of two residential units in Laois, while three have been turned into one unit in Westmeath.
However six Offaly pubs have been converted to 17 residential units in Offaly.
