640 staff are employed by the company.

The trend of online shopping is leaving its mark on discount stores like EuroGiant.

That's according to Fianna Fail's spokesperson on Retail, as the company operating the chain enters liquidation.

All stores will continue operating as usual while a review of its operations takes place.

The company employs 640 staff and with shops across the Midlands, including outlets in Athlone, Mullingar, Tullamore and Portlaoise.
