January figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show a 91% increase in the number of EV sales in Westmeath, a 60% increase in Laois with sales up 57% in Offaly when compared to the same time last year.
Nationally, January saw a record number of electric cars registered with 7,319 new battery electric vehicles.
