Seventy five per cent of businesses that can apply have already registered.
The Department of Enterprise is extending the deadline for application for a new grant for SMEs in the retail and hospitality sector.
The Power Up fund will now take applications up to the 22nd of November.
The grant opened last month, with 75% of eligible businesses already registered.
Minister of Enterprise, and Longford-Westmeath TD, Peter Burke says the money can help "struggling businesses to assist with their costs."
