Stage 10 was a bunch sprint into Saint-Martin-de-Ré.
Sam Bennett has claimed a first stage victory on the Tour de France.
The Carrick-on-Suir rider won today’s 10th stage in a sprint into Saint-Martin-de-Ré.
His victory is enough to wrestle the sprinters’ green jersey away from Peter Sagan.
Primoz Roglic retains the overall leader’s yellow jersey.
Bennett is just the sixth Irish rider to claim a Tour de France stage, and he found the enormity of his achievement difficult to process:
I cant thank my team @deceuninck_qst enough and @PatLefevere for giving me this opportunity. Im so happy to finish the job off and get my first win @LeTour. #dreamcometrue #TheWolfpack #thedreamteam
