Offaly's Alex Dunne looks set for a tough weekend in Melbourne after he qualified in 17th on the grid for this weekend's sprint and feature races.
The Clonbullogue teenager was a the centre of controversy earlier in the morning when he was put in to a wall by Bulgarian racer Nikola Tsolov in free practice.
Dunne was given a reprimand for unnecessarily impeding Tsolov while the Trident driver was hit with a three place grid penalty for causing a collision.

The sprint race gets underway just after midnight Irish time, with the feature race at 10pm tomorrow evening.
