Fitzgerald "Relieved" After Squeaking Past Kerry

Laois ran out one point winners against the Kingdom on Saturday.

Laois have moved a step closer to promotion back to Division 1B. 

Tommy Fitzgerald's side claimed a home win against Kerry, with the game ending 1-18 to 1-17 in O'Moore Park on Saturday. 

Substitute Cormac Byrne came up with the decisive moment, as sent over the winning point, while Aaron Dunphy finished as top scorer with eight points. 

The win leaves the O'Moore County on six points after three games, with Westmeath their opponents this weekend.

Meanwhile, Westmeath continued their Division 2 campaign with an 11 point win away to London on Sunday. 

Kevin O'Brien's side secured an emphatic 3-22 to 0-20 win, meaning they now sit with five points from opening three games. 

Dean Ennis and Eamonn Cunneen got the goals for their side, while David Williams and Kevin Regan both ended with four points each.
