The proceeds of the Grand Canal Walk will be split 50/50 between clubs and county and is a timely boost to the finances of gaelic games in the county.
Offaly GAA Chairman Michael Duignan confirmed that their portion will be used to clear half of a €200,000 cash deficit.
He's hopeful of clearing the remainder of that balance through corporate donations in the coming weeks.
