Opening Round Of 70 For Shane Lowry At Masters

The Offaly man is just three shots off the top.

Shane Lowry is three shots off the top after his opening round at the Masters.

The Offaly man shot a 70, which included a chip in eagle on the 13th hole to leave himself two-under-par and is now in contention going into day two. 

He tees off just after five to six alongside Jason Day and Dustin Johnson. 

Lowry says he had a positive first day:

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy will take a share of the lead into day two.

The defending champion shot an opening round of 67 yesterday, and will resume from five-under-par this evening, at around quarter-to-7 Irish Time.
