The new CCFL will help young women bridge the gap from under 16s to senior grade.
"It's a great opportunity to meet new teams, and new people"
That's the message from the players of the newly formed CCFL Under 17 Women's League.
The league is expected to help young women in the region bridge the gap from under 16s to the senior grade.
The specific fixtures for the six midlands teams are yet to be determined but the action will kick off in October, and the CCFL will be putting on Cup and Shield competitions as well.
Lorna McGinn of Ballyjamesduff AFC, and firstly Keyleigh Berry from Tullamore Town FC say they're looking forward to being involved:
Conn Burke Portlaoise Manager says the new league will help keep young women involved in football:
Mountmellick Manager, John Hibbits, says his club are still looking to add players but the main goal is to have fun competing:
John Quilty, Bealnamulla Ladies Football Club Manager, says the social side is as important as the competition side:
Eddie Purcell, of RFA Swans, says the new league can help produce more players like Jessica Hennessy who just signed a deal with Nottingham Forest:
