Portarlington Paralympian Nicole Turner has been nominated for RTE's Young Sports Person Of The Year.
Turner has enjoyed a magnifcant 2021, culminating with her silver medal in the 50m butterfly S6 category at the games in Tokyo in August.
The 19-year-old exploded off the blocks on the day to only finish behind the Chinese world record holder.
She faces competition from five others, including cricketer Amy Hunter, Meath footballer Emma Duggan, Irish international goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, U-23 European silver medalist in track cycling Lara Gillespie and double gold medalist at the U20 European Athletics Championships, sprinting sensation Rhasidat Adeleke.
The winner will be announced this Saturday evening alongside the senior award during a live tv broadcast.
