The score after normal time was 1-9 to 0-12.
Extra time saw scores from Cian Johnson, David Nally, and Shane Nally on the Ferbane side.
Rhode responded with points from Niall McNamee, Ruairi McNamee, and Aaron Kelleghan.
At the end of play, the scores remained level and it was to penalties.
Midlands 103 commentator Brian Gavin was on hand for that dramatic shootout.
While Tullamore saw off the challenge of Edenderry yesterday on a final scoreline of 1-14 to 0-10.
It's the third straight year the two sides have made the senior county final.
That match is slated for throw in on Sunday, September 25th.
