Rory McIlroy Leads Dubai Invitational After Opening Round

Shane Lowry is three shots off the top.

Rory McIlroy has opened his 2026 season with a five-under-par round of 66 at golf's Dubai Invitational.

The Masters champion is the clubhouse leader.

World number two McIlroy is trying out new irons this week, and he's happy with the fresh set of clubs:

Shane Lowry is two-under after his opening round - the Offaly man had two bogeys on his last four holes.

Padraig Harrington has signed for a one-over round of 72, while Tom McKibbin is two-over with three holes to play.
