It's been a phenomenal year for Athlone jockey Rory Cleary.
The 33-year-old landed his first classic aboard Mac Swiney for Jim Bolger in the Irish 2,000 Guineas in May but that accolade has now landed him an honour of a different kind.
Recently nominated at the HRI annual awards, Cleary will also feature as the poster-boy for the month of May on the annual calendar released as a fundraiser for the injured jockeys fund.
There's another midlands connection as Rhode's Pat Smullen is also given the feature position in the month of September, marking two years since his passing.
