Westmeath SFC: Nothing To Separate Athlone And Coralstown-Kinnegad

The defending champions were four points the better on Friday.

The defending Westmeath senior football champions claimed a win in their campaign to repeat over the weekend.

St. Loman's built up a strong lead in the first half of their clash against Caulry, walking onto the pitch with an eight point lead in the second period.

Caulry came out stronger in the second half, but it wasn't enough to get the best of the defending champs, who claimed a 3-10 to 3-6 victory in Cusack Park on Friday.

Elsewhere in Westmeath, nothing could separate Athlone and Coralstown Kinnegad.

A two-point lead at the half wasn't enough for Athlone to see the game through, with that match finishing in a tie.

The final score there was 0-10 to 0-10.
