Westmeath’s Inny FC U12s Reach Connaught Final

The team played every game away from home.

Inny FC U12 Reds from Westmeath have reached the Connacht Trophy final after a dramatic 8-7 penalty shootout win in the Semi Final over Strand Celtic of Sligo.

The game ended 1-1 in normal time.

All seven games in Inny FC’s campaign have been played away across Galway, Mayo and Sligo, with several wins coming via penalties.

Despite playing with seven players against nine due to injuries, the team showed resilience earlier in the competition.

Competing in the Longford League, which is affiliated with Connacht, Inny now represent Westmeath in the provincial final.

They face Corrib Rangers of Galway in Westport on May 3 rd , aiming to complete a remarkable grassroots journey.
