Irish people are very sentimental about smartphones.

More than two thirds of us have never traded in a smartphone, or recycled one according to Vodafone Ireland.

They carried out a study on Irish attitudes to recycling phones ahead of Earth Day.

The main reason for holding onto a phone was for the photos and memories on the devices, while some people wanted to have a spare phone.
