Singer With Offaly Connections Nominated For Two Brit Awards

Tom Grennan's dad hails from Ballycumber.

The number of Brit Award nominations featuring women has reached the highest level in more than a decade.

Eighteen female artists or all-girl groups have been shortlisted - including Anne-Marie, Little Mix, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish.

Adele, Ed Sheeran, Little Simz and Dave have the most nominations - with four each.

And Elton John's received his first nod for two decades, for song of the year with Dua Lipa.

Tom Grennan, who's dad is from Ballycumber, has been nominated  in two categories - Best Rock / Alternative Act and Song of the Year.

He says it means the world to him.
