Two Lads From County Offaly - Lowry And Grennan Fly The Faithful Flag At The Ryder Cup

The Clara golfer is pairing up with debutant Sepp Straka.

Offaly was well represented at last night's opening ceremony of the Ryder Cup. 

Tom Grennan, who's dad, Martin, hails from Ballycumber, performed at the event in Rome last night. 

The action has gotten underway this morning, with the Clara golfer paired with Sepp Straka, who are currently tied with Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.

In the top match, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton are two up on Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns after five holes. 

Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg are all square with Max Homa and Brian Harman in the second match. 

And Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood have halved the first with Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.
