A study published in Social Psychological and Personality Science found that women can pick up on 'fragile masculinity' if their male partners feel less secure by earning less. 

It found that women are twice as likely to fake orgasm as they attempt to reassure their men.  

The study also found the effect was amplified when the woman earned 'substantially more' than her male partner.
