12 Road Deaths Recorded Across Midlands Last Year

The RSA has released a provisional review of fatalities for 2025.

12 motorists in the Midlands lost their lives on the roads in 2025.

New figures from the Road Safety Authority's Provisional Review of Fatalities for the year shows 5 were recorded in Westmeath, 4 on the roads in Laois and 3 in Offaly.

Nationally, 185 fatalities are recorded on public roads, up 8% on 2024 with the highest share of deaths among car drivers at 41%.

The number of deaths on roads with a speed limit of 80 km/h  or greater also reduced from 70% in 2024 to 54% last year.
