Two men are believed to have fled the scene in Edenderry in the car.
Investigations by Gardaí continue into a fatal house fire in Offaly earlier this month.
The arson attack at a house in Castleview Park in Edenderry killed 4-year-old Tadhg Farrell, his grand-aunt Mary Holt.
Tadhg’s grandmother continues to receive hospital treatment for serious burn injuries.
Gardai are now appealing for any information on a Black Kia Rio Saloon car registration number 08-D-24363.
It's believed the two men involved in this attack left the scene in this car which was found burnt out in Naas, Co Kildare.
