In the last twelve months, the number of people on the live register in the midlands has dropped by 10% - from a high of over 15,200 to less than 14,000 at the end of November.
The biggest decline has come amongst women - where 853 have found employment.
Currently, around 750 women under the age of 25 are on the register.
They join over 900 men in the same age bracket.
The group most affected by unemployment in the region are men over 25 - the figure there stands at 6,732.
While just over 5,000 women in that category are currently signing on.
Nationally, the trend is also downwards.
Nearly 20,000 people have come off the register in the last year.
