A Laois electrical company is set to double its workforce after announcing a major new investment.
The phase 2 expansion of Alpha Drives & Switchgear in Portlaoise will see a €3.5 million boost, fully funded by the company and will create 30 new jobs.
The business, established in 2003, is looking to grow its electrical switchgear department and along with new automated equipment to increase production efficiency and capacity.
It's hoped the investment will help the company construct a 38,000 sq foot extension for a manufacturing assembly area.
