32 residents have died from covid-19 in the midlands nursing homes.
The figures have been release by the HSE to the Irish Times, outlining the death toll of those who've passed away in both public and private homes.
In the midlands, 14 residents have lost their lives in public facilities - nine in St. Fintan's Psychiatric Hospital in Portlaoise, four at St. Vincent's Community Nursing Unit in Mountmellick, and one at the Cluain Lír Community Nursing Unit in Mullingar.
18 futher deaths were recorded at private residencies - 13 at Newbrook Nursing Home in Mullingar, three at Ealga Lodge in Shinrone, and one each in Sonas Nursing Home in Athlone and Sancta Maria Nursing Home in Kinnegad.
The figures include probable covid-19 deaths.
