A new report from the RSA shows, of the 324 driver fatalities in that period, Westmeath and Offaly accounted for two percent each, while one percent of the incidents occurred in Laois.
In that five year span, there were 2,353 serious injuries on Irish roads - 6% of those happened in the midlands.
The report shows men account for almost eight in 10 driver deaths, while 85% of fatalities occurred on rural roads, along with more than seven in 10 serious injuries.
