Moate Community School has entered the most projects this year at eight.
Psycho-acoustics, AI in education, banana bandages, and Dungeons and Dragons are just some of the Midlands projects heading to this year's BT Young Scientist.
The science and technology exhibition kicks off on Thursday and runs until Saturday.
Eight schools in Westmeath are bringing 29 projects to the RDS, with three schools in Offaly delivering 9 projects, while Laois has five entries put forward by 4 separate schools.
Colaiste Mhuire in Mullingar is best represented with 10 projects, while Moate Community School follows with 8.
Nationally, the Young Scientist competition received entries from schools in 31 counties and from almost half of all secondary schools in the Republic of Ireland.
